What Are Broken Capillaries?

Veins

Broken Capillaries, also called Spider Veins take the shape of web-like red (due to congealed blood) threads on the skin. As suggested by the name, Broken Capillaries are small blood vessels beneath your skin that have been damaged due to pressure, which is why they are often times found on the more open parts of your body, like your face and legs.

Broken Capillaries are created when your small blood vessels swell up but fail to resume their original size. The cause of this is weakness found in the blood vessel wall. The veins can also posess weak valves which makes the backward flow of blood to dependent body parts fail, which in turn will swell the blood vessels.

Though there was little hope for cure before, modern understanding of the issue has brought forth several way to remedy the problem.
